General Detail
The ST patch cable is easy to insert and remove. If you experience high light loss, try reconnecting. The ST patch cable is an older generation connector, but it is still commonly used for multimode networks. The ST patch cable is rated for 500 installation cycles.
The ST fiber optic connector has a bayonet-style housing and a long spring-loaded ferrule that holds the fiber. This connector is available in both multimode and single-mode versions. Simplex and duplex adapters, mounted horizontally, are available with either metal or plastic housings, with optional separate ferrules made of phosphor bronze or zirconia. The ST patch fiber is one of the older generation connectors, but it is still widely used for multimode networks, including LANs for buildings and campuses.
